OSCODA - According to local law enforcement, drug problems in Iosco County are worse than many citizens are aware of or willing to accept. Those at the Michigan State Police (MSP) post in East Tawas say the need for a county-wide undercover drug investigation team is more desperate than ever. According to MSP Lt. David Street and D/Sgt. Robert Lesneski, drug abuse and distribution is on the rise, especially over-the-counter prescription painkillers. Both men say the bulk of drugs in Iosco County are being distributed out of Oscoda.
