Nothing else to do? The good news is that county Prosecutor Andrew Son has so little to do, that he has time to appeal the judge's medical marijuana position decision. This is in spite of the public's expressed policy of making possession by adults the lowest police priority. That must mean the prosecutors office has a very clean docket, which, in turn, must mean we have no crime. The arresting officers also must have had nothing else to do. Life is good. Has anyone in government noticed that the more they escalate the War On Drugs, the more people die, but the drug trade just goes on. There is a lot of violence in the illegal drug trade. Some think the answer is to impose more restrictions on firearms. The way to end drug warfare is to end the War On Drugs. You can't have a war without collateral damage. Remove the profit motive from illegal drugs and there would be nothing to fight about. Has anyone in government noticed? Drugs won. Ken Obenski Opihihale [end]
Problem Will Go Away If Congress Leaves It Alone Congress continues to fund and support the War-On-Drugs, then tries to figure out how to end the warfare that results. I guess they cannot see the irony. It's like pouring poison in the river then looking for an antidote for the dying fish. If the war on drugs were ended the narcos would have nothing to fight about. The war on drugs has been going on for over a hundred years under one name or another, drugs won, but Congress refuses to recognize reality and change the strategy. Drug use is a medical issue. The ineffective laws make it a criminal issue. Ken Obenski Honaunau [end]
