Tim Felger is running in Abbotsford for council and for mayor in Mission. His call to legalize marijuana and for harm reduction are emblazoned on his windows. Felger said a man walked into his Essendene Avenue office in Abbotsford and kicked the front counter. "When I went around to the front, he jumped me. We ended up in the middle of the street duking it out," said Felger. When the scuffle continued inside, Felger said he picked up a length of PVC pipe and hit the assailant twice before he backed off. A passing letter carrier called the police. "There's 50 witnesses that saw this guy started it. The cops didn't arrest him. If it had been me [who started it] they would've have arrested me," said Felger. "People should stop attacking me, this should be a contest of ideas. I'm sitting here all bloody and my clothes are torn. I had no intention of doing this this morning," he said. Randall Severson admits he kicked the counter in Felger's office. "That was a bad move on my part. I was frustrated. The signs and the messages really bother me. He promotes violence and hatred and sexual immorality," said Severson. The Chilliwack resident was in the area that morning collecting names for a petition he wants to take to City Hall. "This is a petition for safe environment for our kids," said Severson, who added he's working on his own. Severson said he has bruises and thought his left hand was broken. Police had not laid any charges as of late Monday. - --- MAP posted-by: Beth Wehrman
