The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Officials are hoping to firm up the township's position on two hot items: medical marijuana and the parking of recreational vehicles, such as trailers, campers, RVs and ATV vehicles, in residential districts. Township Community Planner Bill Fischer said because the topics are touchy, the township wanted to get all of its decision makers in one room to develop a game plan for addressing these issues. He said board members will listen to an update from the township attorney on what is currently being looked at in Lansing pertaining to the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act as well as what other municipalities are facing as they try to take action and accommodate or ban the patient-caregiver relationship. The expiration date of Plainfield Township's second six-month moratorium that temporarily banned the sale or dispersal of medical marijuana is coming up in March. The township will need to decide by then how to move forward. Additionally, right now township residents may park a camper, et cetera, in front of their home in the driveway for three days. "But some people may have it parked there the whole summer - it is very difficult to enforce," Fischer said. - --- MAP posted-by: Richard Lake
