IT'S a most unfortunate decision of the Bracks Government that Victoria is to have safe injecting rooms. They will only entrench the problem.

Coming on top of the decision on condom vending machines in high schools, I am apprehensive about what else is in the pipeline.

The Vatican recently ordered the Sisters of Mercy to desist from running injecting rooms in Sydney because it involved facilitating drug taking.

I believe there is a need for a national approach which takes the problem seriously and not deals with it on an ad hoc basis.
