To the editor -- In recent months, I have read the paper about who has been arrested for many things and I am wondering when we are going to do something about the huge drug problem in Yakima. I go to visit my parents, and we can't sit out in the front yard because there are drug addicts on both sides and across the street. What does that teach our children, that it is OK to do this and it is acceptable? We wonder why the kids get into trouble, but what kind of example are we as adults giving when the addicts get picked up by the police but are let out in a couple days to go back to drugs? Is there ever going to be a safe place for our kids to grow up? Mo'lin J. Short Yakima [end]
