It's a no!

In the wake of Gov. Pat Quinn's exit from office Monday, Sneed has learned he will NOT give a green light to Illinois license applications to cultivate and distribute medical marijuana- and will toss a safety wrench into the marijuana mix.

Sneed has also learned Gov. Quinn, who had been urging caution in the state's medical marijuana process, will sign legislation Monday to further tighten the new medical marijuana laws.

Under the changes Quinn is signing into law, the Department of Agriculture will have the power not only to revoke marijuana growers' licenses, but also to suspend them.

Punishment by pot? Sneed has learned Mayor Rahm Emanuel is ordering top cop Garry McCarthy to explain why misdemeanor marijuana possession means one thing on the North Side - and a very different thing on the South and West sides.

Translation: Rahm, who is running for re-election, wants to know why police are choosing to arrest rather than ticket misdemeanor marijuana violators in African-American communities.

In a recent Sun-Times poll, only 8 percent of African-American voters surveyed said they would vote for Emanuel.

Sneed hears rumbles that a suburban mayor and retired Chicago police sergeant may be targets of a major federal probe involving drug stash houses!

A federal sting operation last week netted two Chicago cops and three others with ties to the department. They were accused of stealing cash and cocaine from South Side apartments, which were fake dope houses set up by the FBI. A hidden camera allegedly recorded one team wearing ski masks stealing $20,000 in cash and five fake bricks of cocaine.

Sneed Hears The Wife Of A Chicago Dare Police Officer, Who Teaches Kids How To Stay Off Drugs, Was Arrested On Nov. 21 In An Apartment At Cabrini-green And Charged With Possession Of Crack Cocaine And Marijuana And The Unlawful Storage Of A Of A Loaded Rifle. Even Though The Cop's Wife Lives Elsewhere With Her Husband, The Apartment Lease At Cabrini-green Is Listed In Her Name.
