POLICE are being called to public schools every second day to catch students using and dealing drugs including cocaine, ecstasy, cannabis and speed. Figures from the Bureau of Crime Statistics reveal there have been more than 170 police investigations into drug use at public schools during school hours in the 15 months to March this year. Random drug testing of staff and sniffer dog patrols at Parliament House are being considered after traces of cocaine were detected outside the offices of senior Liberal and Labor MPs. Police have also vowed to step up drug sniffer dog patrols in some of Sydney's top restaurants and public places after The Sunday Telegraph last week revealed drug use was rife in A-list venues across the city.
