ANOTHER LORD LANDS IN A ROYAL STEW

LONDON -- Lord Frederick Windsor, 20, a junior member of the royal family,
has admitted to using cocaine -- and his mother says she is confident he
won't do it again.

Windsor, whose father, Prince Michael of Kent, is a first cousin of Queen
Elizabeth II, acknowledged inhaling cocaine off a glossy magazine at a party
in London three months ago. He was apparently confronted by British
reporters in New York, where he has been working for a finance company
during the summer vacation from Oxford, where he is studying Latin and Greek.

"I brought my children up to be anti-drugs," Prince Michael of Kent said in
a statement. "I am disappointed that he experimented in this way, but he has
assured me that he will not do it again, and I believe him."

The Sunday Times quoted Windsor as saying "it is very difficult to avoid
getting into this sort of thing. " It quoted him as adding: "I don't blame
anyone else for the incident. I have now rejected that side of life and I'm
going to commit myself to my studies."
