EX-MEXICO CHIEF DIES IN APPARENT OVERDOSE

Mexico City - A body found in northern Mexico has been identified as
that of a former state police chief,who authorities said died of a
cocaine overdose,the government news agency Notimex reported Saturday.

Miguel Angel Castro Prado, 48, former director of the state judicial
police in Coahuila, disappeared Wednesday after leaving his home in
the city of Torreon. Hours later, the body was found on the grounds of
a local business.

It was not known how the body ended up at the site. It was found
without shoes and without dust on Castro's socks, Notimex reported. An
official with the state Attorney General's Office said there were no
signs of violence.
