'NO SUCH THING'

It is clear to see why Woodrow E. Nichols Jr. (letter June 8) is upset about
California's "Three Strikes" law. As a criminal defense attorney, no doubt
Three Strikes has caused a serious decline in his repeat business.

Mr. Nichols went on to say that some 80% of the third-strike convictions
were for nonserious or nonviolent felonies. When will detractors of the
"Three Strikes" law realize that in the eyes of honest, law-abiding
citizens, there is no such thing as a non-serious felony?
