The people known as inmates, convicts, criminals, parolees, ex-offenders and so on have become valuable commodities who should be afforded much more respect than current practices allow. But, of course, other than being the right thing to do, what profit motive would that serve for those focused on nefarious greed rather than long-term human benefits?
