BE CAREFUL ABOUT ASKING SOMEONE TO RUN FOR OFFICE

As noted in the Register Editorial, "Green thumbs up" [April 6],
Libertarian Party Executive Director Juan Ros has had his hopes lifted for
the eventual election of a Libertarian from Orange County to the California
Assembly.

The reason for his newfound hope are the fluke victories of Governor Jesse
"The Body" Ventura of Minnesota and 16th District Assembly woman Audie
Bock, respectively, are from the Reform and Green parties.

In order to bring about a fluke victory for Libertarians in Orange County,
Ros would be well advised to screen his candidates a little more carefully
than in the last gubernatorial election. Former Libertarian aspirant, Steve
Kubby, and his wife, were recently arraigned in court on multiple charges
of drug law violations as well as two charges of conspiracy to commit a crime.

Surely Ros could find better Libertarian candidates to take advantage of
this "trend" toward fluke campaign victories.
