FLORIDA DRUG DEATHS OUT OF CONTROL

Sobering statistics on the drug front. More people are now dying from
cocain overdoses in Florida than are being murdered. Heroin deaths were up
51-percent last year. State drug czar James McDonough says deaths from
those two drugs are ``absolutely out of control.'' Meanwhile, an 18-month
investigation in Orlando has resulted in the arrests of 20 people and the
seizure of more than 2-pounds of heroin. Monday night a motorist passed out
in a pickup truck with a syringe in his arm, barely avoiding becoming
another fatality.
