INVESTIGATE THE POLICE

It is evident that Police Chief Thomas Shockley of North Richland
Hills deserves to be immediately removed from office after the
homicidal assault on the home of Barbara Davis by officers under his
direction who needlessly took the life of Davis' son Troy.

The district attorney needs to call for a special prosecutor and a
special grand jury to answer the many questions surrounding this
assault on society:

* Why did the police not simply knock on the door and serve their
misdemeanor marijuana warrant when it was answered?

* Who was the "confidential informant"? What was this person's
motive?

* Who in the Police Department pushed for this case, and for what
reason?

* What were the official and off-the-record comments to and between
tactical officers at their pre-raid briefing?

These are just a few questions. If this action by North Richland Hills
police is indicative of their tactics, a thorough investigation of the
department will probably open a slew of police misconduct allegations.
Getting rid of Shockley will go a long way toward showing North
Richland Hills residents that city management will not tolerate the
incompetence, negligence and outright police stupidity showed at the
Davis home.
