FBI FIND SIX BODIES AT DRUG RANCH

FBI investigators working at the painstaking speed of archaeologists
yesterday had unearthed six bodies at a drug cartel's suspected killing
field.

Officials involved in the investigation believe that the hunt for as many as
100 bodies at four possible mass graves could take months. Identification by
DNA tests and dental records may prove an even more difficult task. The
first skeletal remains, some clothed, others in just underwear, were found
jumbled on top of each other in one grave at a ranch in the Chihuahua desert
a few miles south of the Mexican border with Texas.

Mexican newspapers said that the Rancho de la Campana had been bought by
alleged henchmen of Amado Carillo Fuentes, the kingpin of the Juarez drug
cartel who died while undergoing plastic surgery in 1997. The Juarez gang is
regarded as the most ruthless in Mexico, responsible for smuggling billions
of dollars worth of drugs into the US and believed to be behind the scores
of mysterious disappearances of people from both sides of the border.
