NEW MAP/DRUGSENSE MAILING LIST STARTS

Today, with a question from newshawk Steve Young, the latest MAP/DrugSense
mailing list was launched. Designed as a list to allow newshawks and those
who would like to learn about newshawking techniques and issues, the list
has a sign up form at the bottom of the page at:

http://www.mapinc.org/hawk.htm

The idea of our January Newshawk of the Month, Ken Russell, who is the list
moderator, the list was first announced to the public last week in the
DrugSense Weekly at:

Already a number of newshawks and those who are interested in learning
about newshawking have signed on to the list, as well as a few members of
the editing/posting team at MAP.

Other MAP/DrugSense Mailing Lists

The new list, called HAWKTALK, is one of dozens of MAP/DrugSense mailing
lists. The primary discussion list for discussing news, media events,
writing Letters to the Editor, and other topics of interest to activists is
MAPTALK. The sign up form for MAPTALK is at:

MAP/ DrugSense also supports a number of other mailing lists, some of which
may have special requirements to join. These include, but are not limited
to, Drug Policy Forum lists for California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Minnesota,
New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon Virginia, Vermont and Wisconsin; several
November Coalition discussion lists and the University Drug Policy Forum.
More information is at:

Additionally MAP has special closed mailing lists for the editing/posting
team, the translating team, the news screening team for the DrugSense
Weekly, and for folks interested in helping with the writing of FOCUS Alerts.
