Editor -- I worked in S.F. as a volunteer minister for years, and was
frightened by the street scene that was prevalent and dangerous.

I have seen a distinct downsizing of the desperate drug addicts on the
streets, which I attribute to D.A. Hallinan's policies of treatment
and rehab.

Conviction and jail does not heal these sorry people.

The streets of S.F. are much safer, and the sickest in our society,
the strung-out addicts, are being treated and removed from their cycle
of destruction. Thank God for Terence Hallinan! Please re-elect him,
people of S.F., you will continue to be safer in your homes and mercy
ministers like myself will be in less danger trying to save souls and
lives.
