$48 MILLION WORTH OF COCAINE SEIZED

A sheriff's deputy uncovered more than 1,300 pounds of cocaine - worth about
$48 million - during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 70 over the
holiday weekend.

The deputy and his drug-sniffing dog found the cocaine in the back of a
tractor-trailer that had been weaving and running onto the shoulder Sunday
night.

The truck driver and the passenger were jailed Monday as they awaited
arraignment. Ignacio Hernandez, 41, and Leopoldo Hinojosa, 26, are both
charged with possession with intent to distribute, which carries a minimum
sentence of 20 years.
