WRONG DRUG SIGNAL

Dr ALEX Wodak's letter, "Urgent need for different drug approach"
(September 26) asks why the State Government did not introduce
injecting rooms, yet implemented other recent recommendations of the
police royal commission.

Maybe it felt it was the wrong direction to take. Establishment of
shooting galleries is a step towards drug acceptance rather than
reform. Why provide space with a relaxed message about drugs when real
reform is needed to stem the spread of drugs?
