Source: The Media Awareness Project of DrugSense Pubdate: Wednesday, 15 July 1998 MELODI TAKES OVER Today Melodi Cornett became the Acting Senior Editor of the News Service of the Media Awareness Project of DrugSense. Reached on the road in Europe, General Barry McCaffrey, the White House Drug Czar, refused to comment. Reporters with the General speculated that he is too busy working on offending everyone he can. However, the reporters reported that they are really looking forward to visiting the coffee shops of Amsterdam. Melodi, who prefers to be called Mel, takes over for two weeks while Richard Lake, long time Sr. Editor, and his family, go on holiday in far northern Minnesota. "I was born and raised on the Mesabi Iron Range," Richard noted, "It is where my relatives live and were I learned to be an activist. Gust Hall grew up there, and Bob Dylan was a year behind me in high school. Rangers tend to be an opinionated activist bunch." While Mel will field any questions directly related to the news service, more general DrugSense/MAP questions should be directed to Mark "It will be nice to get out from behind the screen for a few days," Richard said, "but I will miss it. These are exciting times. I will also miss the Saturday and Sunday evening MAP CHAT sessions discussing the issues with friends from around the world. I will be back!" - --- Checked-by: Richard Lake
