INANE AND INSULTING COMMENTS

I AGREE completely with Craig Schroer's letter re: the editorial comments
following each reader letter. I enjoy everything about the Sun except for
these inane and often insulting comments. The notation to him was that many
readers love these comments. I doubt it. Are your brave enough to conduct a
survey?

D. Wood

(We conduct a survey every year and listen to our readers daily.)

ANTI-DRUNK driving spokesperson Fern Jordan said "the simple fact is most
people are absolutely loopy before they reach .08." If that's the case,

I'd like to have a swig of what Jordan is drinking. While I do support
strong measures against impaired drivers who are caught behind the wheel,
statements like these damage the credibility of these groups and paints them
as temperance advocates -- a concept I certainly would not support for one
second. The law is fine the way it is.

Timothy J. Meehan

(A drop to .05 is as low as the law should go -- otherwise the innocent will
be criminalized.)
