DOWN ON DOPE

SOUTH Australian police officers could be the first in the country to
test a method of obliterating clandestine marijuana crops in national
parks by poisoning them from the air.

Regional police say the proposal, based on a New Zealand system,
would be a significant time-saver given the labour-intensive method
currently employed to seek out, remove and destroy the offending plants.
