ARUBA VOTERS REELECT FAILED PARLIAMENT

Aruba's election produced a deadlock Saturday, with voters choosing the
same Parliament that collapsed in a fight over extraditing citizens to face
drug crimes in the United States.

Voters gave 10 parliamentary seats to Prime Minister Jan Hendryk Eman's
Arube People's Party, nine seats to opposition leader Nelson Oduber's
People's Electoral Movement and two seats to the Aruba Liberal Party of
Glenbert Croes. Results must be ratified by the electoral council in five
days.

"We don't know yet what the results mean," Eman said. His party had hoped
for the 11 seats needed to form a government.
