FOCUS ON ORGANIZED CRIME

Marijuana should have been decriminalized immediately by the new
government, and money, time and precious limited court facilities not
wasted on 16,000 unnecessary cases of possession in 2016 (plus how
many this year and next until the promised summer of 2018?).

Like the present grow-ops and dispensaries, the police have been put
on notice, but with a lot more lead time to get officers out and
trained as required. How much more slowly can one introduce a law than
three years, for the rest of the system to be ready? I am sure changes
in tax legislation do not get that long for the private sector to catch up.

I fail to see how robberies and home invasions are going to increase
just because a family might have a few plants growing when every
family will have that option. I am sure the focus should be on
organized crime and not domestic cases - domestic ones will be legal
soon, so focus on the real concerns that won't be legal for some time
to come.
