STOP CODDLING ADDICTS

As a 73-year-old who has lived through a number of life's good and bad
times, I take issue with the constant demands from people who believe
our governments should spend taxpayers' dollars to provide them with
injection sites, drugs and housing. These drug addicts made a
conscious decision to take drugs without regard for the outcome.

No one bailed out my age group when we made incorrect choices in life.
We were held responsible and faced the consequences, no matter how sad
or difficult. By providing welfare each month, along with services
catering to addicts, we are enabling them, allowing them to believe
their addiction is their entitlement. It is time we stopped coddling
these segments of society.
