TOKING ALONG WITH THE U.S. PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFULS

Debate's all about the mockery at marijuana lounge

What's the best way to watch the U.S. Presidential debate on Monday?
At downtown Windsor's medical marijuana lounge Higher Limits, there's
a simple answer: high as hell.

Like many venues across North America, the lounge will be showing the
live televised debate on its biggest screen. But unlike anywhere else,
Higher Limits will hold a toking game in conjunction with the
proceedings.

Attendees will take hits from the lounge's various bongs, vaporizers,
and rigs depending on what happens during the 90-minute debate.

Donald Trump saying 'Believe me' or making a similarly vague statement
warrants a hit.

Any mention of Hillary Clinton's health warrants a toke - as does any
time she coughs or sneezes.

Trump mentioning his wall on the Mexican border? That's three
tokes.

If Clinton declares that "America is already great," attendees must
refill their bowls. And so on. According to Higher Limits, this
presidential race has been "a mockery from the outset." So why not
make a mockery of a mockery?

"We're always seeking to normalize cannabis culture, and we thought
that embracing the hilarity and absurdity of the U.S. presidential
election was a logical next step," said Jon Liedtke, co-owner of
Higher Limits.

Liedtke wonders if the event is the first ever presidential debate
toking game. "We think it will be well-received."

Higher Limits is located at 251 Ouellette Ave. in downtown Windsor.
Doors open for the event Monday at 8 p.m. The debate's broadcast
begins at 9 p.m. Attendance (18 and older) is free.
