AMEERI'S CRIMINAL BEHAVIOUR MERITS DEPORTATION

Re: Dial-a-doper gets deportation break, July 5

On Canada Day, I proudly witnessed about 60 immigrants joining the
Canadian family by way of reciting their oath of allegiance and
loyalty to Canada and Queen Elizabeth. I am often reminded how blessed
we are to be living in this wonderful, prosperous and free country
that some people take for granted.

It angers me that convicted drug dealers with lengthy criminal
histories, like Aimal Ameeri, don't seem to appreciate the freedom and
opportunities that he had been given when he arrived in Canada.

I am well aware of the dangerous circumstances and lack of freedoms
and human rights of many immigrants in their home countries; however,
when so many refugees have risked their lives to come to Canada, often
arriving with only the clothes they were wearing and dreams for a
better life, then we don't need immigrants like Ameeri. The sooner
he's aboard the next airplane to Kabul, the better off all Canadians
will be.
