$1M SUIT FILED OVER SHUT POT SHOPS

A medical marijuana patient is taking on the City of Toronto in a
$1-million lawsuit after pot shops closest to him were shut down by
the Project Claudia raids.

Raymond Hathaway, a Scarborough paralegal, told the Toronto Sun on
Wednesday he filed a $50,000 claim prior to the raids because the shop
he was visiting, Scarborough Dispensary, was forced to shut down
temporarily.

"The dispensary was considering opening back up and I said please do
not raid my dispensary as it is the only place that I get my oil," he
said. "The day they decided to open up, the raids happened."

In his original claim filed May 19, Hathaway states the city is
"attacking another dispensary I use to access my medication."

After the raids, he said he upped his claim to $1 million because he
says his request for accommodation was ignored.
