PRO-POT STUDIES ARE BIASED

Google "marijuana smoking," as letter writer Peter Lipskis suggests,
and you will find that much of the "research" is done by parties with
a vested interest or personal bias. Even so, you have to be quite
selective to conclude that smoking marijuana does no harm.

The study cited, such as it is, specifies one joint a day. To
paraphrase a well-known advertisement, "Bet ya can't smoke just one."

In any case, the study does not cover neurological effects and the
associated sociological effects. Potheads are horrible people to be
around when they are off their weed, so don't tell me it's not
addictive. I have worked with several long-term users and there's no
getting around the basic fact that in a society that has spent
billions of dollars trying to get cigarette smoke out of public
places, pot stinks.
