VOTE NO ON G AND H, STOP HARASSMENT OF GROWERS

I urge voters to vote no on G and no on H in the June 7 primary.

Unlike other counties, Butte County has not chosen to regulate
cannabis growing for economic development, but has chosen to suppress
enterprise and job creation. When Measure A passed, the patient
community had to pay substantially more for medicine, lawful growers
were subject to militarized raids for code infractions, and millions
of dollars left Butte County for more enterprising counties. It
appears non-pot-related code violations went unabated as well, while
the fines for Measure A citations have proven uncollectable,
incurring costs when the county can't even fund the library full time.

The Board of Supervisors unilaterally amended Measure A to discourage
lawful agriculture, and to intimidate farmers under color of
authority. I encourage you to rebuke their unlawful, unconstitutional
harassment of lawful agriculture.

By working together we can support everyone's rights and needs. As
other counties have demonstrated, a regulated market leads to
prosperity, while a black market leads to more crime. G and H are
onerous burdens on those who grow, and those who wish to live in
harmony with cannabis farming neighbors.
