PARKIN ON POT

Decriminalization is what organized crime has always wanted: Customers
who face no consequences for doing drugs but a market that is not open
for legal production. If the government is going to decriminalize
marijuana, it should put a fine in place that will still be a
deterrent. Also Mr. Parkin did not specify a quantity - is he
seriously suggesting a truckload of pot is no more consequence than a
couple joints in a pocket? The whole issue has been poorly thought
out, including Tom's piece.
