MEDICAL MARIJUANA VITAL FOR PAIN RELIEF, QUALITY OF LIFE
This letter is a response to Mike McLeod's Feb. 20 letter.
Imagine you have traumatic brain injury, back injury and leg
reconstruction. Imagine being in constant, debilitating pain where
everyday routines prove impossible to manage. Imagine not being able
to care for your children in the way you desire and they deserve.
Imagine being tethered to oxycodone and morphine for any relief, only
to endure side effects which make you rethink the pain relief.
Imagine living with no true quality of life.
Now, imagine experiencing relief from medical marijuana, yet not
being able to procure it legally. Pain relief should not be a criminal act.
I hope you never have to endure that fate as I have. Floridians
support this bill; it has been our legislators turning a deaf ear.
Imagine a state where the people's will triumphs over politician's
agendas. Amendment 2 will provide compassionate care to our citizens
who suffer terribly from debilitating conditions by allowing doctors
to recommend medical marijuana.
I do not support this bill to get high; rather to live a life worth
living and to be the best mom I possibly can be. Under this
amendment, other forms of the plant can be utilized for medicinal
purposes. For the many qualifying patients in our state, this law
will provide a long overdue option for doctors and a clear sign of
hope for humanity.
