When it comes to marijuana, I feel for former Toronto Police chief Bill Blair, who stated, "The laws that currently exist in this country are in force and in effect and it's important that those laws continue to be obeyed, upheld and enforced." Hearken back a few years to when Justin Trudeau told a journalist, "We had a few good friends over for a dinner party, our kids were at their grandmother's for the night, and one of our friends lit a joint and passed it around. I had a puff." He said he smoked pot about five or six times but it "has never really done anything for me." At the time, he was merely a sitting MP. He would go on to greater things. I'm not saying allowing a friend to light up a doobie in your home and sharing said spliff is akin to running a crack house. However, I am saying Trudeau obviously did not agree that laws should be obeyed, upheld and enforced. At least, not when it came to him personally. So, what is the moral here? It is that all Canadians must obey the laws of the land unless you're going to be prime minister some day? If that is the case, do what you want - laws don't apply to you.
