SUPERVISORS MEETING

The front page article of the Appeal-Democrat newspaper on Jan. 13
stated "Pot proponents scorn supervisors." It could have also stated
"Pot supporters scorn civility, or politeness or courtesy."

The item on the agenda was to place two pot proponent initiatives on
the June 7 ballot. But that wasn't enough for the unruly crowd, they
wanted it now and threw a tantrum. It seems that profanity, catcalls,
disruptions and personal threats are a normal tactic by the marijuana
user. Some people left the meeting in fear, the Board of Supervisors
had to call a recess and four sheriff's deputies had to restore
order. But the ridiculous behavior continued. One pot user stood at
the podium and loudly demanded that all the supervisors, county
council and county administrator be arrested for treason. Could this
be the brain damaging results of long-term pot use?
