KEEP MARIJUANA SALES AWAY FROM CHILOQUIN

The City of Chiloquin hosted two marijuana workshops. Neither work
shop was opened to public comment.

The city has not recently conducted public hearings or taken public
input. The question is how the Mayor or City Council can determine if
city residents actually want marijuana sold in the city if the
council refuses to listen to the pulse of the city? Klamath County
and city of Klamath Falls rejected marijuana medical dispensaries or
recreational pot use; this means that Chiloquin would be the "mecca"
for pot consumption in Central Southern Oregon.

While the City Council wonders toward adapting marijuana ordinances,
the City Council has refused to deal with more important issues.

There is no law enforcement in the city even though it has the second
highest municipal tax income in the County. The city audits have
numerous accounting errors and deficiencies for over a decade. The
city audit for 2013-2014 is delinquent. The city has failed to
address long-term water storage, sewer system, and road repair
issues. The city ordinances are out of date.

The city is facing millions of dollars in civil litigation in state
and federal courts. The city has been reprimanded for failure to
follow procedures after obtaining grant moneys for municipal improvements.

The City Council's proposed idea of allowing marijuana sales will not
produce the income needed to pay for law enforcement or youth services.

The city's reputation will be tarnished by becoming the pot capital
of Central Southern Oregon.

A no vote by the City Council on allowing marijuana sales will help
the youth and young adults in the community to avoid addictions and
chemical dependency. Question for all residents of Chiloquin: how are
you going to react to even more thefts and vandalism in the City? The
City Council members need to hear from you.
