ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Regarding Brad Gates' letter of July 1, you ask, "Was it the
marijuana tourist who came to Colorado and voted marijuana legal, or
was it you and your neighbor? I'm pretty sure it was you and your
neighbor, correct me if I am wrong."

Well you are wrong. It wasn't my neighbor, and it wasn't me, and it
wasn't the 40 some percent of the state that voted against it,
either. I accept that recreational pot is legal now, but the current
debate seems to be centered on how many pot shops are enough.

Glenwood's Vaudeville Revue has invested time and money refurbishing
its new home, and a fine place it is. An evening watching and
laughing, a chance to escape life outside for a couple of hours, I'll
be damned if I would sit for a show surrounded by the stench of pot
when a shop opens next door to it.

There is little chance for successfully eliminating the offensive
odor permeating the old walls, ducts, cracks and just flowing out on
the sidewalk. I would no longer patronize the Revue simply to avoid
wondering which table the skunk was under. Many things in this day
and age are legislated, a loud stereo late at night, garbage in a
neighbor's yard, parking in a handicapped space, all seemingly
innocuous, but they offend someone. Glenwood's decision makers were
right to stand firm and say enough is enough.
