FAILED DRUG WAR TO BLAME FOR PROBLEM

Amazing how the article on the front of the Union-Tribune ("Changes
in drug trade cause spike in violence in Tijuana," May 24) doesn't
put the blame on the drug war deaths in Mexico where it belongs.

That is right here in the U.S. We've had the war on drugs for
decades. It has accomplished nothing except for the following: more
prisons, more arrests, more police, more judges, little to no rehabilitation.

As long as there are drugs, our citizens will figure a way to get
them. When the U.S. finally legalizes drugs and starts
rehabilitation, then the profits in Mexico will dry up.
