NO EXCUSE FOR DEA ERRORS IN CHONG CASE

Regarding "Panel grills DEA on local detention case," (May 6): Daniel
Chong was intentionally taken into custody, arrested and jailed by
DEA cops. Your recent article uses various descriptions to explain
the reasons for the abuse to citizen Chong; e.g. accidentally,
blunders, oversight, mistakes, inattention to duty, forgot about him.

The U-T can't be sincere. The DEA thugs intentionally hurt Mr. Chong
and one of them ought to be in jail. Even our federal cops can't be
so dumb as to misplace a person in clear view for five days.

How was it Mr. Chong heard voices speaking on the other side of the
door but the officers couldn't hear his screams and cries?

A serious crime was committed against Mr. Chong and, $4 million
notwithstanding, prosecution must be done.
