TIMES SURE HAVE CHANGED WHEN IT COMES TO MARIJUANA

One evening in August 1971, my husband and I took a leisurely trip to
Gastown. There had been rumours of a "smoke-in" by pot users, but we
didn't take it that seriously.

Well, the police arrived. If you have never been chased by police on
horses, you have not been truly scared.

We hid in the doorway of the Army & Navy Department Store and couldn't
go home as our vehicle was parked in Gastown, so we had to wait until
civility returned.

How the times and thinking have changed over 44 years with street
closures now for those who wish to toke-up. We will watch it on TV
from the safety of our home. Some adventures in life one never forgets.
