POT RALLY PLANNED FOR K.L.

KIRKLAND LAKE - The owner of the Tripping Daisy is taking his fight to
the streets of Kirkland Lake.

The Tripping Daisy, located on Lebel Avenue had a search warrant
served at the premises Feb. 5, and according to store owner Darren
Delaney the OPP seized $25,000 worth of his merchandise, including
bongs, pipes, grinders, vaporizers. While Delaney claims he sold these
items and other supplies for consumption of smoking materials for
tobacco or herb use only, unless the person had a prescription for
medical marijuana, these items are commonly used for marijuana or
other illegal substances.

According to a press release issued by the Tripping Daisy, Delaney was
charged Feb. 11, after his lawyer, David Bennett, put in a written
request to the OPP for the merchandise to be returned. Police have not
issued a statement on the matter.

The rally, being organized by Kim Cooper, will feature marijuana
advocate Dana Larson of Sensible BC, and Matt Mernagh of Toronto. The
rally will start at the Tripping Daisy at 5 p.m. on Mon. March 2. From
there, supporters will march to the Kirkland Lake OPP Detachment on
Duncan Avenue, followed by speeches from marijuana advocates and Delaney.

"We welcome this chance to challenge the law," said Larson. "We'll be
fundraising from stores across the country to support this case. The
ban on medical cannabis devices like water pipes and vaporizers is
clearly unconstitutional. When we beat this in court, these kind of
raids will be put to an end once and for all."
