DON'T WORRY STRIKING TEACHERS, CHRISTY CLARK'S POT IS (ACTUALLY) IN
THE MAIL

On the morning of September 12, Canada Post's tracking system showed
Dana Larsen's bag of purple kush was on its way to Victoria.

Yesterday (September 11), one of Canada's lead advocates for marijuana
reform floated a novel idea for ending B.C.'s teachers strike.

"I sent the Premier some cannabis buds for two reasons," Dana Larsen
said quoted in a news release. "First, I thought if she could get
together with Peter Fassbender, Jim Iker and their negotiating teams
to share a joint, it would help break down some barriers and give the
BCTF negotiations a fresh start.

"Second, I wanted to remind the Premier that legalization would mean
over $200 million in annual savings and revenue for her government.
Legal, taxed marijuana sales would mean a lot more money for our
schools, as well as hospitals, libraries and other community services."

Given that talks between the province and teachers have remained
stalled for months and now seem to have hit a total impasse, Larsen's
suggestion isn't just a fresh idea, it's just about the only proposal
out there.

But was he serious about it?

Despite Larsen posting a photograph of a bag of pot going into an
envelope marked with Premier Christy Clark's address at the
legislature, it still all sounded like a bit of a joke.

Turns out the Sensible B.C. campaign director doesn't kid around when
it comes to marijuana reform.

Intentionally or by accident, Larsen missed blocking out his bud's
Canada Post tracking number before he posted that photograph to Twitter.

It's PG291882780CA.

That means anybody can go to www.CanadaPost.ca, drop in that number,
and watch Larsen's purple kush travel to Victoria.

On the morning of September 12, the weed was (actually) in the mail,
passing through Richmond at the time of writing. (Update 1: As of 9:
55 a.m., Larsen's parcel of pot was in Victoria and "out for delivery".)

Don't worry parents, herb is on the way.

Update 2: According to Canada Post, Christy Clark's bag of marijuana
has been delivered. Did someone at the B.C. premier's office just
signed for a bag of purple kush?
