Former police chief Eric Johnson referred to part of the new law that makes busts for possession of small amounts of pot the lowest law enforcement priority in Santa Fe. Johnson wanted to know what that means and said in his view marijuana remains "a gateway drug." The committee voted unanimously to have nothing to do with the pot law, rejecting an amendment to clarify that it remains "unlawful" to have an ounce of pot in Santa Fe. - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
