WHAT IS SO DIFFICULT ABOUT ANSWERING ONE LITTLE QUESTION?

RE: "Border Patrol checkpoint challenge," UpFront, Sunday, July 20

Evidently (Timothy) Blomquist was so wrapped up in viewing the
scenery that he did not see the speed limit signs to reduce his speed
as he neared the checkpoint and the flashing lights advising of the
road closure.

As an intelligence officer in the U.S. Army, was he not trained to be
aware of his surroundings, to be ready to react to unexpected
situations? As U.S. citizens, we must all obey the laws of our great
land and cooperate with those charged with enforcing those laws. And
what is so difficult in answering the one little question, "Are you
an American citizen?"
