MEDICAL MARIJUANA ADVOCATES PUSH FOR VOTE IN CAPITOL

HARRISBURG (AP) - About two dozen mothers, grandmothers, nurses and
small children are in the Pennsylvania Capitol to ask state senators
to advance medical marijuana legislation.

Dana Ulrich of Lancaster County said Tuesday that they are asking
senators to vote the bill out of the Appropriations Committee and
pass it before leaving the Capitol for the summer.

Ulrich's 6-year-old daughter Lorelei suffers from severe seizures.

Ulrich and other advocates believe that marijuana oil extracts can
save the lives of their seizure-wracked children while helping treat
other ailments in children and adults, such as cancer or multiple sclerosis.

Gov. Tom Corbett supports a narrower legalization of marijuana oil
extract for medical purposes, while leaders of the House Republican
majority says they're opposed because the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration hasn't approved it.
