CONSIDER FALLOUT FROM LEGALIZED POT

I believe that legalizing marijuana is going to bring up a lot of
contradicting legal issues ("Changing pot laws prompt
child-endangerment review"). This is just the beginning of double
standards that this medical marijuana issue is going to stir up. How
are the laws able to define what is moral and what isn't on a
home-to-home basis?

It is not possible to be consistent with all the different cases that
are out there.

People should not be doing drugs while they are taking care of
children.

But, I do believe that medical marijuana can help certain
illnesses.

Medical marijuana should be dispensed at medical offices, and
treatment should be done in medical facilities. This seems like the
only way that we can regulate the use and the environment in which
marijuana is used. Marijuana should not be treated like heroin and
other Schedule I substances under federal law. It seems as though
there should be more restrictions on legalizing marijuana, and some
re-evaluation on drug laws. We must be firm and consistent when it
comes to such big decisions, especially when it is affecting lives.

Too many times the government jumps right into lawmaking without
thinking of the consequences, and contradictions that may occur.
