FEINSTEIN WRONG ON DISPENSARY FACTS

Sen. Dianne Feinstein ought to fact check her statements on medical
marijuana if she thinks that the Obama administration is going after
so-called rogue dispensaries, which according to her "are prevalent
throughout California."

When the Justice Department threatened hundreds of California
landlords with seizure of their property unless they evicted their
medical marijuana dispensary tenants, more than 600 state-compliant
facilities were forced to shut down.

Los Angeles medical marijuana dispensary operator Aaron Sandusky had
not violated any local or state laws when the DOJ prosecuted and
sentenced him to a mandatory 10 years in prison, where he now sits.

Oakland medical marijuana dispensary Harborside Health Center and its
landlord are still being sued by U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag at
taxpayers' expense. Neither Harborside, nor the two other facilities
being sued by Haag in San Francisco and Berkeley, have violated any
local or state laws.

If Feinstein has evidence of rogue dispensaries in California, she
should present it. Otherwise, she should vote to restrict DOJ funds
from being used in this way when it comes to the Senate floor for a
vote later this summer.
