MARIJUANA PROBLEMATIC

Re: Medical marijuana now growing in Leamington, by Doug Schmidt, March 31.

In response to this article, I believe that opening up this marijuana
plant wasn't a very smart idea.

Leamington now has a great responsibility in making sure that this
marijuana is grown and used for the right purposes only. Many things
can go wrong with such a dangerous drug.

I completely understand that this marijuana plant was opened up for
medical purposes but if this drug ends up in the wrong hands, it can
be used in many illegal ways.

Marijuana is a very common drug that people use for nonmedical
purposes and if anyone gets their hands on it, they can sell it and
make a fortune.

Even though Health Canada has had a criminal background check on all
the workers in the plant, people can change and you may never know who
or when they will.

Many people abuse this drug outside of medical plants, so that just
goes to show that marijuana can be misused in the plant also.

Personally, I don't think marijuana should be used at all for medical
purposes. Yes, it may help a patient's recovery but they, too, may
misuse the drug.

I believe that there are other alternatives than using marijuana. Even
the company's principal said that it could be problematic. The
supervisors of this plant better pay close attention and keep their
eyes open because you never know what will happen.

I hope that Leamington is ready for this huge responsibility.
