MARIJUANA BACKLASH

Sadly, the "all about me" attitude won out in the approval of
Amendment 64, allowing dealers to operate legally here in our state.
Short-term thinking with long-term repercussions will come into play
as we move forward.

A state known for beauty, good climate and good living will be
overshadowed by a move to allow "recreational stoning."

Newspaper stories glorify those involved who never went to college
because they knew it all already and those has-been actors who came
here to join in the fun.

Just where will the money come from to satisfy the habit? It's
obvious - from more crime and corruption in our community. How about
increased problems for businesses, more police action, increased
health care and increased influx of the homeless? The cost of this
initiative will overcome any tax benefit and will put added stress on
our region. What a shame.

So get ready, Pueblo. The nightmare is coming.
