MARIJUANA NEWS: SUGAR MORE HARMFUL THAN POT? AMERICANS SAY SO IN NEW
POLL

Marijuana advocates have pressed the case that marijuana is safer than
booze. It's a message that's resonated with voters in Colorado and
Washington, the first states in the country to legalize pot for
recreational use.

A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds Americans agree with
that view and take it a step further: It's less harmful than sugar.

Americans say tobacco is most harmful (49 percent), followed by
alcohol (24 percent), then sugar (15 percent) and then marijuana (8
percent).

"What we are seeing here is a very dramatic shift of attitudes," said
Wall Street Journal staffer Patrick O'Connor in a video posted to the
paper's website. He said the attitude shift is particularly striking
among those younger than 35.
